We mostly use adjectives to describe people (e.g. kind, tall, funny, rude). They tell us what someone looks like or what they’re like.
We describe people using:
Appearance – height, build, hair, eyes, clothes (e.g. tall, slim, curly hair).
Personality – character traits (e.g. friendly, honest, lazy).
Behavior – how they act (e.g. talks a lot, helps others).
Emotions – how they feel (e.g. happy, nervous).
anxious (B1 ) – /ˈæŋk.ʃəs/ – worried and nervous;
curious (B1 ) – /ˈkjʊə.ri.əs/ interested in learning about people or things around you;
eccentric – /ɪkˈsen.trɪk/ someone who behaves in a strange, unusual, or quirky way, often in a fun or creative manner;
inquisitive – /ɪnˈkwɪz.ə.tɪv/ wanting to discover as much as you can about things, sometimes in a way that annoys people;
scatterbrain – /ˈskæt.ə.breɪn/ – a person who forgets things easily or does not think seriously about things;
virtuous – /ˈvɜː.tʃu.əs/ – having good moral qualities and behaviour;
